Black excellence dominating the music industry once again
Apple Music recently announced their list of 100 Best Albums of All Time. Most exciting of all is the reveal of the Top 10 Albums that made the cut.
In this prestigious lineup, 7 out of 10 albums are from Black Artists! Most of them are featured in our game.
Here are some of the Black Artists that dominated the top 10 list for Best Album of All Time:
1. Songs in the Key of Life (1976), Stevie Wonder
Stevie Wonder is a staple artist in our Oldies But Goodies Deck featuring songs from "Songs in the Key of Life."
This album is a collection of radiant, well-crafted songs that soon became the root of inspiration for many artists that came after.
The album title is already telling of what songs it contains. Music that speak of childhood, social issues, heartbreak, kinship, and so much more. All of these life-epiphanizing songs wrapped in a single album for us to enjoy.
2. Purple Rain (1984), Prince & The Revolution
If you Google the word "Prince," the icon himself is the first result. This is likely because of the impact of Purple Rain to the world.
Prince and The Revolution created an album so far removed from just one genre, that it became its own style of music. This album is truly indescribable and irreplicable.

3. Lemonade (2016), Beyoncé
All of the albums in the list outline a significant era in pop culture, but arguably, Lemonade was the one that broke the internet.
Beyonce's Lemonade made waves even when it was released without prior announcement. It is renowned for its theme of women empowerment and celebrating Black culture.
And guess what? Beyonce is also a frequent feature in our decks!
4. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998), Lauryn Hill
There wouldn't be enough words to truly talk about this album. It isn't just a masterpiece; it's an experience.
Lauryn Hill made use of Hip Hop, Soul, and Reggae to conceive this album with lyrics written as a love letter to herself, among other things. This album is an amalgamation of all sides of Lauryn Hill, her ups and down and all the points in between.
Being crowned as the number 1 Best Album of All Time is truly well-deserved.
Not only did that land her the title of Best Album of All Time, it also inspired us to feature her in both our 90's & 2000's Hip Hop and R & B Edition and our 90's R & B Expansion Pack.
