LC Cares College Edition: Sending Them Right Off to College
Through LC Cares, we invest in the community and the future!
At Lyrically Correct, we have always believed that the heart of the business should be giving back. That’s why, through the LC Cares initiative, we make sure we take care of our fam: you all.
In August of 2025, we decided to hold a giveaway for incoming college freshmen who were in need of support. Whether it was something as small as pillows for the dorm or as big as a new laptop to get them through their courses, we didn’t hold back!
Here are our selected scholars:
Jabari Lagunilla – Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)
- College: Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)
- Wishlist: A heavy-duty laptop powerful enough to handle engineering software. We made sure to get him his ideal laptop, complete with the specs and storage capacity he needed to get started in his robotics engineering journey.
- Why: The LC team found his dedication to his dreams inspiring. He acknowledged that his parents had given him the support he needed, and he wanted to make sure that winning a spot in our giveaway would alleviate the stress and financial burden of funding this laptop.
Tyler Godette – Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD)
- College: Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD)
- Wishlist: Tyler focused on dorm essentials that would make it feel like home. Some of the items we purchased included a mini fridge, an air purifier, a shower caddy, a comforter, and many more! We wanted her dorm room to be more than just four walls.
- Why: We were moved by Tyler’s efforts to get herself a scholarship to SCAD despite the cards she’s been dealt. She put in the work to get her grades up and land herself scholarships, but that was only half the battle. We wanted to support her for the next chapter of her life: college.
Brianna Walters – Rutgers University–Newark
College: Rutgers University–Newark
Wishlist: Brianna listed out a few dorm essentials that we gladly provided. This list included a wall shelf, an iron board, a desk organizer, storage items, cleaning supplies, decorations, and more. She truly pictured her dorm life and brought to life what type of home she wanted to live in during her college years.
Why: From her entry, we were impressed with her overall mindset. Not only did she have entrepreneurial ventures at such a young age, but she was also able to juggle her academics, sports activities, and businesses with such grace.
Alaysha Opurum – Morgan State University
College: Morgan State University
Wishlist: One of our founders, Tiffany, spent the day with Alaysha shopping for her dorm essentials. We initially got her a door mirror, a laptop case, a projector, bathroom essentials, and more from her Amazon list. But with Tiffany (in full mom mode) shopping with her, we had to throw in cleaning supplies, a refrigerator, a blender, a dry-erase board, and a whole lot more!
Why: In Alaysha’s video entry, she mentioned her many high school accomplishments, which we found awe-inspiring. On top of her academic and athletic achievements, she also has the grit and determination to make her dreams come true.
Anastacia Caraballo – College of Staten Island (CSI)
College: College of Staten Island (CSI)
Wishlist: We cleared nearly the entire Amazon list Anastacia provided! Desk lamps, various pens, chargers, a planner, room decor, towels, a corkboard, and much more.
Why: With such moving thoughtfulness, Anastacia shared how she wanted to take some pressure off of her mom. Not only were we impressed by Anastacia’s outlook, but we were also impressed by her mom’s dedication to raising all her children as a single mother and giving them the best opportunities.

- 5 students ready to take on their first semester with confidence
- Countless memories made with the LC Cares team
Giving back to these kids is an investment in the future of the community. We wanted to match their passion for making their dreams come true. This is what LC Cares is all about!
